Before Your Voyage

How does the 'White Glove' booking process work? +

At Global Cruise Adventures, you don't just book online. After your initial inquiry, your personal Travel Architect will contact you. In a detailed consultation, we analyze your wishes. You will then receive an individual offer that includes flights, transfers, pre- and post-cruise programs, and cabin preferences. The booking is only finalized when you are completely satisfied. We handle all the administrative work for you.

What documents do I need for entry? +

The requirements vary depending on the route and your nationality. Generally, you need a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of your trip. For many of our exotic destinations (e.g., Antarctica, Amazon, Polynesia), we handle the necessary permits through our visa partner service. All documents will be delivered to you digitally in your personal "MyVoyage" app and physically in a luxurious leather folder before your journey.

Do you offer travel insurance? +

Yes, and we strongly recommend it. Our exclusive insurance partners offer packages specifically tailored for luxury travel and expeditions. This includes not only trip cancellation but also comprehensive evacuation insurance for remote areas. In the unlikely event of a medical emergency in Antarctica, evacuation costs can exceed $50,000 – with our premium protection, you are fully covered.

Experience on Board

What is the dress code on board? +

During the day, the style is "Casual Resort" – comfortable and relaxed. For expeditions, we recommend functional clothing in layers. In the evenings, "Elegant Casual" applies in the main restaurants (shirt and trousers for men, sundresses or pantsuits for women). On every cruise, there is at least one "Captain's Gala" evening where formal attire (tuxedo/dark suit or evening gown) is encouraged. However, your comfort comes first; in the buffet restaurants and on the pool deck, the dress code is always relaxed.

What is the medical care like? +

Safety is our top priority. Each ship has a fully equipped medical center with at least one experienced ship's doctor and medical staff. We can take X-rays, determine lab values, and have an intensive care unit for emergencies. Telemedicine connections to specialists ashore are available 24/7. If you require special medications, please inform us in advance so we can ensure they are in stock.

Can I specify special dietary requirements? +

Of course. For us, culinary excellence also means flexibility. Whether gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, kosher, or halal – our chefs will prepare any menu according to your needs. After booking, you will receive a questionnaire about your dietary habits. On board, the Maître d’Hôtel will personally introduce himself on the first day to discuss your wishes for the entire journey.

Additional Information: Expeditions & Environment

Code of Conduct in the Arctic/Antarctica (IAATO/AECO)

As a member of IAATO (International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators) and AECO, we are subject to strict guidelines. Guests must attend a mandatory briefing before every shore excursion. Touching animals is strictly prohibited. A minimum distance of 5 meters from penguins and seals must be maintained. Nothing may be left ashore, and nothing (except photos) may be taken. Boots and clothing are disinfected before and after each landing to prevent the introduction of foreign species.

Our Zodiac trips are highly dependent on the weather. The Expedition Leader always has the final say regarding safety. If a landing is not possible due to ice conditions or wind, we will offer alternative programs or lectures on board. Flexibility is the key to a true expedition.

Sustainability & CO2 Compensation

We are aware of our ecological footprint. Global Cruise Adventures compensates 100% of the CO2 emissions for every journey by investing in certified reforestation projects. On board, we have completely eliminated single-use plastic. We use biodegradable cleaning agents and process wastewater to drinking water quality before it is discharged (only in permitted zones).

  • Ban on Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) across the entire fleet.
  • Use of shore power in all compatible ports.
  • "Farm-to-Table" concept to reduce food transport.
